In October we went hiking to the
Peace Stupa, Pokhara.
-
Recently the children have
finished their end-of year
school examinations and we are
pleased to say that all passed,
several ranking third in their
whole class.
-
During the school holidays in
March and April of 2009, the
children were taken out for
picnics in the park by the lake.
The boys enjoyed playing
football and other sports. The
girls took music and all took
part in singing and dancing, and
everyone enjoyed ice cream. All
the children went out on a hired
bus to visit museums. Some went
to the Annapurna Natural History
museum, others to the Gurkha
museum. Later we went to the
caves at Mahendra Gupha. One day
the children had a party with
balloons and food.
-
The children earn stickers each
day for good behaviour and work
in their lessons. At the end of
the week the ones with most
stickers are given small
rewards. This might be a small
gift, or a treat like going out
for ice cream or pizza.
-
The children are grouped in
rooms, each with a colour. Each
week the rooms are checked twice
for cleanliness and tidiness,
and given points out of ten. The
children in the room with most
points at the end of the month
get a prize for their room.
-
The two top children, one boy
and one girl, were rewarded in
February 2009 by a paragliding
flight. This was kindly donated
by John Chick and Craig from
England.
